Seeking a Social Security Disability Legal Assistant responsible for managing the day-to-day legal casework for the firm in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Provides assistance to the Mass Torts Attorney(s).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Exhibits a professional, courteous demeanor and provides excellent customer service to Crumley Roberts' external and internal clients. Maintains client confidentiality.

Must be able to multi-task and handle tasks promptly and professionally with all staff levels and the public.

Prepares legal and court documents; interfaces with the client on non-legal issues relating to the management of the case; refers legal issues to the appropriate attorney(s).

Maintains excellent client relations and interfaces with the client according to practice group procedure. All contact with clients is documented pursuant to operating procedure.

Obtains all pertinent information from clients to include treatment status, doctor-appointment information, changes in medical care and/or work status; documents and records information; notifies attorney of any changes, concerns or issues.

Assists the Social Security Attorney(s) with client cases, including filing of applicable applications and appeals. Prepares/drafts Social Security Administration documents and forms.

Conducts preparation for hearing; submits appropriate information and forms/documents to the appropriate entities determined by Social Security guidelines; understands forms and procedures relating to Social Security disability and/or Supplemental Security Income.

Ability to effectively utilize available technology, including computers, databases, portals, and software needed to successfully manage cases.

Manages and utilizes the checklist on a daily basis, maintaining due items within operating procedure.

Processes mail on a daily basis to review any additional information pertinent to the cases being managed; determines and enters any necessary case notes for items received.

Interacts with the client to ensure receipt of all appropriate reports, records and information is received in a timely manner.

Performs other duties as needed and/or required by the Attorney and/or Supervisor.

Upon final disposition of the case, confirms expenses; prepares the appropriate documents for review by the attorney and client; follows up appropriate fees and expenses.

Other duties as assigned by assigned Supervisor.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and preferred 6 months legal office assistant, paralegal or customer service experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
